If you think the idea of feminists being apologists for female domestic abusers is odd, there are several places that have DV policies, shaped with help by feminists, that say that even if a woman hits first, it was in preemptive self-defense, whether of herself, the kids, or even the pets.

Not joking.

Plus the Duluth model of domestic abuse, which assumes only men abuse women, only men have the problems in an abusive relationship (never mind research showing victims of both genders often repeatedly get into abusive relationships), and is still widely used today. There’s basically no legal or shelter support for men, to the extent that a guy who calls the cops on his SO is more likely to be arrested than she is. Even more so if he dares to actually hit her back, even in self-defense.
